Child Safety and Exploitation Prevention Policy

At CampusConnect, we are deeply committed to safeguarding children and young people from sexual abuse, exploitation, and other harmful behaviors. This policy outlines our zero-tolerance stance on child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and establishes clear guidelines and mechanisms to ensure the safety and well-being of all users on our platform.

1. Our Commitment to Child Safety

CampusConnect is dedicated to:

  • Providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all users.

  • Taking proactive measures to prevent, detect, and address CSAE.

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations regarding child protection and reporting obligations.

  • Collaborating with law enforcement and child protection agencies when necessary.

2. Prohibited Activities

We strictly prohibit the following behaviors on our platform:

  • Sharing, creating, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

  • Engaging in grooming or other predatory behaviors targeting minors.

  • Soliciting minors for sexual purposes or other forms of exploitation.

  • Harassment, bullying, or any behavior that compromises a child’s safety.

User Reporting Mechanism:

  • Users can report inappropriate content, behavior, or suspected CSAE through the in-app reporting feature, as detailed in our Safety & Community Guidelines or by contacting us directly at support@campusconnect.ie. Reports are treated with the utmost urgency and confidentiality to ensure a safe platform for everyone.

Internal Escalation Process:

  • All reports of CSAE are treated with the utmost urgency and confidentiality.

  • Our moderation team reviews reported content and behaviors immediately. Verified incidents are escalated to the appropriate authorities as required by law.

4. Preventative Measures

To minimize risks and protect users, we implement the following safeguards:

  • Content Moderation: Use of tools and manual reviews to detect and remove inappropriate content.

  • User Verification: Ensuring user authenticity through account verification processes.

5. Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of this policy will result in immediate action, including but not limited to:

  • Content removal.

  • Account suspension or termination.

  • Reporting the incident to law enforcement and child protection organizations.

CampusConnect reserves the right to take additional actions as deemed necessary to uphold the safety and integrity of our platform.
