A cross-institution, online professional development programme for early- and mid-career university professionals with responsibility for community building and conversion. The programme combines peer learning, networking and practical application to help participants activate community as a strategic conversion lever, design engagement across the lifecycle, and use data to measure impact and demonstrate value.
Modules
-
Develop a shared understanding of what ‘community’ means in a recruitment and admissions context, and how it influences applicant decision-making. This module reframes community from a feel-good concept to a strategic lever that directly supports conversion outcomes.
-
Examine how prospective students, applicants and admits experience community at different stages of their journey. Through experience mapping, participants will identify key decision points, uncover gaps and duplication, and design more intentional engagement that supports conversion rather than adds noise.
-
Community initiatives don’t sit in a single team; they rely on collaboration across admissions, marketing, recruitment, student experience, and alumni relations. This module helps participants navigate complex institutional environments by mapping key stakeholders, understanding competing priorities, and developing strategies to influence decisions and align teams.
-
Explore examples of community building across institutions, with a focus on the roles of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and ambassadors. Drawing on insights from guest speakers, this module highlights what works, what doesn’t, and the trade-offs involved. Participants leave with actionable ideas and inspiration to strengthen community initiatives in their own institution.
-
Learn how to measure the health and engagement of your student communities, identify meaningful metrics, and connect insights to conversion outcomes. This module helps participants move from activity reporting to actionable data, demonstrating the impact of community initiatives and guiding strategic decisions.
Outcomes

Leverage the roles of students, ambassadors, alumni, faculty, and staff to enhance community impact.
